Golfing with Trump: economic decline, inequality, and the rise of populism in the US
With the US election campaign in full swing, this lecture will explore the role of economic decline and of inter-personal and inter-regional inequalities for the rise of populism and anti-system voting across the developed world and in the US particularly.

We will examine to extent which interpersonal inequalities and long-term economic decline in the US were at the root of the rise of vote for Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential elections and will explore which was the most important factor behind the rise in Trump vote across US counties.

Hosted by Hellenic Observatory and the National Bank of Greece.

Attendance at an event will be shared with other parts of the School.
